Alexander Robson

Alexander Robson

Call: 2006

Profile

Alexander has a busy practice specialising in commercial litigation and employment law.

Practice

On commercial matters Alexander has experience of complex multi-jurisdictional commercial disputes gained while working in the litigation department of a leading Canadian law firm on the international aspects of Reeves v Sprecher and Others [2006] 2 BCLC 614; [2008] EWHC 583 (Ch).  He is regularly instructed to advise and appear in a variety of contractual and other disputes. His employment practice covers the range of employment issues, with an emphasis on unfair dismissal and discrimination.

He has recently been instructed in the High Court (led by David Reade QC) to act for the defendant in a multi-million pound claim for negligence, breach of statutory duty and breach of contract brought by an employee against his ex-employer, and on behalf of the claimant in a High Court restrictive covenant dispute in the insurance sector. Recent cases acting in his own right include a successful appeal to the EAT in the case of Joao v Mesh Computers.

Alexander regularly appears in courts and tribunals throughout the country on single and multi-day cases. A recent secondment to the in-house legal team of an international recruitment company gives him a unique and practical insight into commercial litigation and employment law from the client’s perspective.
