Dr Wolfgang Peter

Dr Wolfgang Peter is an eminent arbitrator, ranked in Chambers and Partners top category Most in Demand Arbitrators. He specialises in M&A and investment disputes, for which his background in finance well-equips him.
He received his Degree in Law from the University of Lausanne and his Doctorate in Law from the University of Frankfurt in 1986. He also has degrees in Political Science, Business Administration and Economics. He was called to the Swiss bar in 1979.
He is a founding partner of Python, Schifferli, Peter Partners, a firm with offices in Geneva, Lausanne, Bern, Brussells and Tokyo, that specialises in International Corporate, Tax, Commercial, Banking and Maritime Law. He is a fully established arbitrator and is a member of both the Swiss Arbitration Association and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Recent experience includes a case involving Électricité de France in a dispute where over USD1 billion was at stake.
He has published a number of articles on business law and international commercial arbitration, including ‘Arbitration and Renegotiation of International Investment Agreements’ (Kluwer Law International, 2nd edition, 1995).
