New Commercial Court decision on worldwide freezing orders
25.09.2009

Charles Samek QC acts for Italian defendants on their successful application before Flaux J in the Commercial Court to discharge a worldwide freezing order on the grounds of lack of jurisdiction of the English Court. The Court reaffirms the principles applicable to the grant of interim relief under s.25 Civil Jurisdiction and Judgments Act 1982 in the context of relief ancillary to a main worldwide freezing injunction also granted under s. 25, in support of substantive proceedings taking place abroad.
