Professional Indemnity Insurance:
Every barrister must have Professional Indemnity Insurance and this is provided by Bar Mutual (BMIF) which provides cover for individual barristers of up to £2.5 million. Members of Chambers can opt to purchase additional top up insurance cover, over and above their Bar Mutual insurance, in accordance with and determined by their individual practice requirements. Such top up cover is provided by TLO or Lonmar. Details of such additional cover can be supplied upon request.
Employers’ Liability Insurance:
Littleton Chambers are separately insured for Employers’ Liability (Compulsory Insurance) Act 1969 for £10M by Ecclesiastical under Policy number OCEL1018976. Complaints:
Complaints can be made to our Commercial Director, Nigel McEwen, who has responsibility for ensuring that the requirements of all relevant quality standards and codes applicable to the Bar are implemented. Anyone who is not satisfied with the way in which a complaint is dealt with can also make a complaint to the Complaints Commissioner at the Bar Standards Board.
